HEY HEY HEY....MY 2 IDEAS ARE THIS...1) I THINK ITD BE A GOOD IDEA TO HAVE A SCHEDULE WITH PHONE NUMBERS AVAILABLE FOR EACH OF US. IF WE ARE IN NEED OF CALLING OUT, WE HAVE TO LOOK FOR OUR OWN REPLACEMENT COVERAGE. WE WOULD CALL ON OTHER STAFF THAT IS NOT SCHEDULED AND ASK IF THEY CAN. ONCE WE HAVE THE PERSON, WE NOTIFY OUR SUPERVISOR AND EXPLAIN THE EMERGENCY ..."WITH" THE REPLACEMENT AGENTS NAME AND ETA!!! YEAH, NO EXTRA STRESS FOR THE SUPERVISOR, RIGHT? WHEN TIME PERMITS, HE OR SHE CAN WORK OUT THE SCHEDULE TO ENSURE THERE IS NO OVERTIME.
AS FOR IDEA # 2, I SUGGEST A POSITION CALLED , "PER DIEM". THIS IS AN EMPLOYEE THAT IS ON CALL. THEY APPLY FOR A POSITION AS O/C AGENTS. WHEN NEEDED FOR EMERGENCY COVERAGE, SUPERVISORS CAN CALL THIS "LIST OF O/C AGENTS". IF A 'PER DIEM" EMPLOYEE IS UNABLE TO TAKE AN EMERGENCY POSITION 3 TIMES WITHIN A 6 MONTH PERIOD...THEN THEY ARE REMOVED AS O/C PER DIEM AGENTS. THIS WORKS WELL FOR SOMEONE THAT NEEDS ONLY MINIMAL HOURS DUE TO BEING A 2ND JOB OR SCHOOL, FAMILY MEMBER ILLNESS, ETC. I THINK ITS A GREAT IDEA THAT OTHER COMPANIES USE WHEN DEALING WITH THE NEEDS OF EMERGECNY COVERAGE.
