Re: Ideas Welcome

Hi, Candy.  There may already be in place at Appletree programs similar to or better than the ones I'm suggesting, but here goes....In Southeastern Pennsylvania (very near the Philadelphia Airport), there is a lovely haven and environmental education center called The John Heinz Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum (some employees may know this site); there they do wonderful works for all the people, plants and animals dependent on the land and water resources of the refuge.  The Refuge itself benefits financially when people recycle paper products (not cardboard) at their location.  So far this year, my family has recycled over 400 pounds of junk mail, newspapers, magazines, and homeschooling scrap paper there..imagine what our company could do to support The Refuge's many programs and endeavors!  If Appletree doesn't already designate its recyclable paper to a charitable cause, may we consider The JH Wildlife Refuge, or a similar organization in Delaware?

Re: Ideas Welcome

and, speaking of recycling office products and by-products....The Boy Scouts of America have an ink-cartridge and cellular phone collection program,  the proceeds of which help to fund various Boy Scouts activites.  Could some of our ink cartridges (if we use any) and old cell phones be donated to their cause?

and here's one that's strictly personal, but may catch on.... I'd like to commit any and all of my future bonus/incentive earnings (assuming I reach the level of earning some) as a direct deduction and allocation to the agency of your (Appletree) choice which is dedicated to the regreening of the earth (Arbor Day Foundation) or wildlife protection (The Nature Conservancy, National Wildlife Federation,  Sierra Club,  Audobon Society)....it's money that wouldn't be missed from the family budget, and may do some small good for a good cause..........operator 736

Re: Ideas Welcome

Another program that recycles mobile phones is Cell Phones for Soldiers. The Houma site is now a designated drop off point for that organization. We just need to publicize that more. We hope to eventually get our clients involved. Appletree may already have something worked out with Dell but recycling computers is another thing a company can do.
